Will it actually stay put?
Yes, on the right surface. Hundreds of suction cups press flat against the tub floor, and once they seal, the mat does not shift underfoot. Two things make the hold strongest: press it down on a clean floor, and wet the base first. If a corner ever lifts, one press seals it again.
My tub has a textured bottom. Will it work?
Honest answer: no. Suction needs a smooth, glossy surface to seal, and no suction mat holds on heavy texture or tile with grout lines, whatever the listing says. Run your hand across your tub floor: if it feels smooth, you are good. If you feel raised dots or rough texture, this mat is not the right tool, and we would rather tell you before you buy.
I have bought mats that slid before. How is this different?
Most mats fail for one of two reasons: too few suction cups, or cups too small to seal.
